Third Annual Dressage Retreat on August 27 - 28, 2011.

This is a full two-day program designed to enhance the rider's connection to the horse and to provide a holistic integration of rider mind/body/health awareness.

After such terrific rider and auditor feedback from last year's Retreat, we are thrilled that Mette Rosencrantz (www.metterosencrantz.com) and Susan Harris (www.anatomyinmotion.com) will both be joining us again this year.  Tonya Grant Barber of Equistride International will be working with horse and rider in the art of in-hand work.  Lisa Wolfe, Certified Fitness Instructor and author of multiple fitness books, will be working on riders' fitness and health as well.

Each rider will work with the three instructors and the fitness instructor, rotating during the day between each activity. This is a relaxed, intimate setting where riders and auditors are encouraged to ask questions of the instructors throughout the day. Our professional sound system ensures that riders and auditors alike will clearly hear the instructors. We will also have a professional saddle fitter, masseuse, and other vendors on site for the weekend. Reasonably-priced hotels are within ten minutes of the facility.

Saturday's dinner begins at 6:30, with the lecture following shortly thereafter. Susan Harris will present the Visible Horse, a demonstration which has received international recognition and praise. This is a very informative look at how the horse's anatomy affects and is affected by various riding movements. Participants will have the opportunity to see a live horse that has been fully "painted" with its skeleton and musculature work through various movements.

Each rider may bring one groom at no additional cost. The cost of the retreat is $850 for the eight training sessions, stabling, lunches, and Saturday night's dinner and lecture for both rider and groom. Equistride will feed horses and clean stalls for the riders at no additional charge.
Auditors may choose between three pricing options for the weekend. There is a $25 day rate for those who wish to watch the lessons only. We also offer a 2-Day Pass for $85, which also includes participation in the fitness classes and the Saturday evening dinner and lecture. Those auditors who can only attend the Saturday dinner and lecture may do so for $35.

Space is limited to a maximum of eight riders for the weekend; early registration is greatly encouraged!
