This is the designation used by Spanish breeders to indicate
that they are using approved bloodlines, and that their horses
have passed strict breed inspections.
The Spanish government and breeders adopted this designation
to replace the term "Andalusian," because, as their
horses became more popular, many horses were being called "Andalusians"
that did not meet their criteria.
So, a P.R.E. horse has been carefully bred from approved stock
and has met inspection guidelines that are regulated by the government.
A P.R.E. is what used to be called an "Andalusian"---but
not all "Andalusians" are P.R.E.s!

"Pure Spanish Blood."
